The Closure of the Luncheon Club at Holmefield House and the rapid onset of the Government’s self-isolation measures will have a significant impact on the 75-95 age group that attended the Luncheon Club. These recent measures have speeded up the Council’s decision to provide a Meals on Wheels service for Luncheon Club members, but there will be some spare capacity for other vulnerable, elderly and infirm residents of the village.

Today is the start of a consultation period that ends on Sunday, 1st December 2019 about the plans being put forward by Northstone (a subsidiary of Peel) to develop around 250 homes on the land at the bottom pof Trough Laithe.

Effective immediately, and until further notice, Barrowford Parish Council cancels all physical meetings in order to minimise the spread of the Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) responsible for the latest Covid-19 pandemic.

This means that there will be no Full Council (every 3rd Wednesday of the month), no General Purpose Committee (every 1st Wednesday of alternate months) and no Working Groups (ad-hoc). All community group meetings at Holmefield House are also cancelled until further notice.

Friday, 10 October 2019: we released the final version of our Neighbourhood Development Plan.  This is the version that voters of Barrowford will vote on in the referendum to be held on 14th November 2019.

On 14 Nov 2019 the residents of Barrowford voted in a referendum, "Do you want Pendle Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Barrowford to help it decide
planning applications in the neighbourhood area?" Yes|No

The result was "YES"!
